You're looking for some heat?

There is a valve usually in the heater hose, right before it goes into the heater core, which is against the firewall or under the dash.

It might be a problem with this valve stuck, & not allowing coolant in to exchange with ur interior; or the control, especially if automatic or thermostatically controlled is not functioning - look for a fuse first or fusible link, mechanical malfunction of the control/thermostat itself, or a miniature air line under the dash leaking, cracked or unhooked.

But they usually have a thermostatic or temperature sensing issue, since they r so complex.

when ur car is cold & there is gunk in ur system it sits at the bottom of ur heater core & rad. when u start the car the antifreeze starts circulating moving the gunk through the cooling system it stirs up the gunk keeping ur anti-freeze from flowing properly. l suggest u drain the system & flush it completely under pressure. this will remove the gunk & will let the system work again/ better 2 have it done by a garage since they have the proper equipment.good luck mike
