the only vents that blow are the defrost and floor vents, at one time it all worked and all of a sudden only those two. Any help would be great thanks!

It could be one or all of three problems. A vacuum leak that has caused some of the functions fo the vent selector not to work. The electronic climate control unit has failed. It is one piece & is what u see in the dash board. Or the air box door mechanism is broken. It moves to channel air from position to position. Mark series lincolns r prone to this failure. It is the most expensive to fix, but the fix is permanent as the replacement little arm that breaks is metal, not plastic, & lasts the life of the car.

it could be a vacuum leak behind ur heater & air control.all u do is remove 4 bolts holding the control to the dash & check if the vacuum hoses r connected & the cables r attatched. be gentle when u pull it out slightly so u dont cause the hoses & cables 2 disconnect. if the problem is the heater doors than l suggest u go 2 a scrap yard & buy the parts there which will be alot less expensive than the dealer. if possible get ur hands dirty & take it apart at the scrap yard 2 see how u will fit it on yours.it is not a big serious problem stated by another person if u use ur head. good luck mike

this is the electronic automatic temperature control default mode. the control head has it is own diagnostic computer inside and it sees a problem with the system. you can take it to the ford dealer for diagnosis or you can google search something like: 'lincoln eatc code retrieving'. http://p71interceptor.com/eatcswap/selftest.html tells you how to do this. it may save you some money doing it yourself!
