these are the 3 that l have been looking at and l want a v8 but my grandmother talks about gas being so high l shouldnt do it but idont see much of a difference except power, l wanna know if its a good car and if there are any long term problems and which year do you think would be better?

Lincolns are not very reliable cars. If l where you check out some of the other Lincolns and other cars that have cylinder management system, when you are not using the other cylinders, they shut off so you save gas. l would get the 2006 because it is the newest and even though it has the V6, you can always put a new intake or other performance parts to make it faster. l do not know much about Lincolns.

Do not listen to him Lincoln is r very awesome cars!!

An LS V-8 is not that bad on gas it gets like 16-17MPG city & like 25MPG read the MSN.COM reviews

It is sporty & pretty fast, they make a decent sports car

l have a 1988 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series with a 5.0L V-8 l can gun it & get 0-60 MPH in less than 8 seconds stock!! l only lost one race with a 2006 Subaru WRX ST l with like 350HP.

Plus my big engine is fuel efficient, l get 400 miles off of 1 tank & thats with me gunning it all of the time going at least 85 MPH & with the A/C blowing at full power.

And it only takes me $30 to fill up.

l love it & would not give it up for anything. It is 20 years old with 96k miles & stronger than ever. Never had a problem with it & most Lincoln is r this way the LS as well it is a good sports car & screw gas prices my Lincoln is better than a Honda

We have a 2005 LS with the V8 and parts for these cars are high. It has good power and gas mileage is pretty good also.

Compared to the with the 6-cylinder LS, you are sacrificing 2 mpg in the city (15 vs. 17) and 1 mpg on the highway (23 vs.24).

With prudent selection of an aftermarket chip kit, low-restriction exhaust and cold-air intake, you certainly have the potential to close that gap.

l have a 2002 lincoln ls v8. its a good car & cruises very well on long distance drives. l spend about $66 to fill it up. it requires 91+ octane gas & where l live thats about $4.30 a gallon. And when it comes to driving the car ur gas milage can vary. if u run & gun & have a bit of a lead foot then ur gas milage will suffer in this car & plus its pretty fast for its size l guess but if u drive conservative then u can get around 24mpg.

l remember running around town driving like l didnt care & l got around 16 mpg but once l calmed down l was getting around 23 mpg.

Its a good but can be expensive to keep up especially when ur ignition coils go bad usually due to a leak head gasket seal. Its not very easy to find after market parts for this car either. If its in good condition the u will be satisfied.

Things to know is that the transmission can be faulty, ignition coils, cd changer, window regulators go bad & a couple other things.

A good place to look is LLSOC lincoln ls owners club, they have forums aboout commen problems regarding the lincoln ls & the solutions to the problems also.

Good luck & hope u enjoy ur car if u buy one. I've enjoyed it so far but I've spent about $1,300 in repairs in the first 6 months of owning the car. Just take car of it & it will do just fine. Fun to drive.

And there is no way to increase performance in a LS with an aftermarket chip best way to do it is with lowering intake & exhaust restriction.
