Anyone familiar wth 60's ford/lincoln engine stalling and how to resolve it??

THANKS TO ALL YOU GUYS THAT ANSWERED,THE HELP AND INFO WAS GREAT,BUT ALL THAT WASMENTIONED WAS TRIED BUT TO NO AVAIL.l SAW ON THE INTERNET THAT IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 60'S LINCOLN CONTINENTAL MODELS,BUT l CANT SEEM TO FIND THE CAUSE OR ANSWERS OR HOW TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.IF THERE'S ANYONE THAT KNOWS OF,WHAT CAUSES,OR HOW TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE,I'D APPRECIATE THE INFO.I'VE MISSED 6 MAJOR CAR SHOWS BECAUSE OF THIS AND I'D HATE TO MISS THE CAR COMPETITION SEASON.......THANKS FELLAS.......

it might siund wierd but if u pour cool water over tyhe fuel pump especially if iot is hot. shut down the engine & pour cool water on the pump. do not pour cold water because it might crack the pumps outer casing. l had a 67 continental & it use 2 stall when it was hot & l used this method & it worked. or change ur gas cap it might make a difference. let me know how u make out. my email is mike7steeves.ca. l have friends who r members of the lincoln club of canada, l could ask them also. so long. mike

l have had a dozen or more Ford Mercury and Lincolns from the 60 is and 70 is and still have a few but you are not giving any details like when it stalls like cold or hot or when you are about to stop or when idling for a minute all that makes a difference in trying to narrow down what could be the problem.

Stalling
Bad carburator, ignition timing too slow, dist. vac. advance not working or no vac. to it.
Bad points and condensor
