I drive a 2000 Lincoln LS V8 Do I really need to by 91+ octane gas?

On the side of the door it says 91+ octane only , will buying cheap gas harm my engine in any way?

It is my understanding that you can drive the lower grade stuff for a little while but you will notice the difference in your engine.

no it wont because with todays computer controlled vehicles you can put that cheap gas in because the computer will adjust the timing and everything else slightly to accomadate the lower octane rating

yes you can run the cheaper low octane gas ok but if you like to step down on it and run high RPM is and race a few friends from time to time you will not get good quick performance and that will wear on your engine but for normal light driving you should be fine.
