Replace 2 serpintine belt on a 1994 lincoln towncar

okay so l released the tension. removed the belt. purchased the same one, l measured to make sure. now l can not figure out how to get the sucker back on. l have to much damn slack! it is around the ALT>PS.>Water Pump>Crank Shaft>Tensioner>AC What am l doing wrong? can anyone help me.

Sounds like you routed it wrong.
Check it against the diagram under the hood.

Any serpintene belt routing is simple. The grooved pulleys run on the inside of the belt and the smooth pulleys run on the outside of the belt. The routing is obvious.

Belt first goes between belt tensioner, and idle pulley, then bottom around a/c compressor, then around crankshaft pulley, turning around water pump, down around p/s pump, up around alternator
