l have a 1991 Lincoln Continental 44k original miles. Recently, driving home l noticed as l parked my car that the coolant reservoir overflowed, due to the temperature of the coolant and started to spill out all over the ground.

A while later as the car cooled down l checked the reservoir and the radiator and they both were empty. Possibly all or most of the coolant spilled out.

1 day before this happened l replaced the heater core hose. l am not sure if this has anything to do with what happened? Possibly l got a bad heater core hose, if this could be a possibility?

l am not blowing white smoke out of the exhaust.

l would like to know if this could be a bad heater core hose, a bad thermostat, a bad water pump, or even a bad radiator, and if there is a way to check them 1 by 1 so l do not have to replace them all.

Thanks for all your help.

Re-Add coolant, be sure to get all the air out of the system this time.

YOUR NOT IN TROUBLE..WHAT HAPPENED WAS, WHEN YOU PUT IN THE NEW HEATER CORE, YOU HAD AN AIR POCKET IN THE NEW CORE, AND IN THE HOSES. WHEN THE RESERVIOR WAS FILLED TO THE BRIM, AND THEN GUSHED OUT OVER THE STREET, IS WHEN THE AIR POCKET HAD MOVED THE TRAPPED AIR OUT THROUGH THE SYSTEM. JUST SLOWLY KEEP ADDING MORE COOLENT TO THE SYSTEM. BE..SURE THAT THE RADIATOR CAP IS ON TIGHT. THIS WATER LEVEL WILL TAKE ABOUT A WEEK TO SEEK ITS OUN LEVEL. BE SURE THAT WHEN YOU PUT IN THE NEW ANTIFREEZE,THAT YOU MIX THAT 50/50. THAT MEANS HALF WATER, AND HALF ANTIFEEZE. A;SO REMEMBER TO HAVE YOUR HEATER CONTOL LEVER ALL THE OVER ON THE HOT RANGE, THIS WILL ALOW THE COOLANT TO CIRCULATE THROUGH THE NEW HEATER CORE, AND THE COMPLETE SYSTEM. GOOD QUESTION, BETTER YET, GREAT ANSWER.
