the tune up is not due till 90k miles. are you sure the knock is coning from your engine? try changing the type of gas you use. try a higher octane rating.

Sounds like you got a load of bad gas (seems l hear that a lot lately ) Toss some hi-test in it and see if it improves. The ECM can only make up for just so much. A main or big-end rod bearing will usually knock at idle and not live very long at all, so l doubt that is your problem. At high RPM is when the timing is advanced the most and thats when a low octane knock will show up the most.
