l have an 1990 licoln towncar that has a 5.0 engine in it.l have 196000 miles on the car. l need help knowing how many miles can an engine get before the engine blows out.?????

depends on how the car was taken care of. Usually a good quality lincoln will run for 250k miles

it all depends on how well you maintain it. there is no way to predict how far it will go. 196 is pretty darn good though.!

It is all up to you. l think that a worn motor needs to be watched much more closely on the water and oil levels, driven carefully and not at too high of a speed, and absolutely no hot rodding if its expected to last to the max. So, again, it is up to you. My 94 Town Car has 190K and still runs and drives great and does not use more than a quart every 2500 miles. l try to take care of it. These are good cars.

Tricky question. If it is well maintained there is no reason it can not go to 300,000 or more. With todays oils and filters the internals can last MUCH longer than before. l drove my 88 VW GT l HARD for 450,000 miles and only got rid of it because of the interior.
The only thing l would think about is the timing chain, they go bad with no warning. That and make the switch to full syntethic oil.
