window (drivers side) rolled down but will not come back up, l do hear a small noise when l hit the up button,but window does not move to up position,switch was a little sticky before this happened but the motor allways ran smooth! Whats UP
My driver side window on My town car would not roll back up, l got several good suggestions on what the problem may be, however when l removed the entire door panel l found a ''Driver control module'' It operates every window fine but the drivers relay only buzzes, I am thikin that this module has a bad relay, no burn marks on the back of card, but maybe inside relay, What do ya will thinktexas boy so not real smart!

THE WINDOW MOTOR HAS 3 HARD PLASTIC PARTS ABOUT 1/2 INCH LONG AND 1/2 INCH ACROSS THAT BECOME BRITTLE AND COME APART, WHEN THAT HAPPENS THE MOTOR WILL STILL TURN AS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ELECTRONICS. YOU HAVE TWO CHOICES [REALLY JUST ONE UNLESS YOU ARE MECHANICALLY INCLINED [ l BUY THE ABOVE MENTIONED PARTS AT A DEALERSHIP . THESE ARE AFTERMARKET PARTS NOT FORD ] YOU CAN REBUILD THE MOTOR YOURSELF FOR LESS THAN 10.00 IN PARTS OR YOU CAN REPLACE THE MOTOR AT A PARTS HOUSE FOR LESS THAN 75.00. IF YOU HAVE THE MOTOR AND LABOR DONE BY A GARAGE , YOU ARE PROBABLY LOOKING AT A COUPLE HUNDRED.

The window regulator has snapped. You can purchase the regulator on this particular vehicle without the window motor. This makes the price reasonable, even from the Ford dealer. It utilizes a cable type regulator which can snap easily. To replace it will, require use of a drill & a large rivet gun with new rivets. To enable removal/replacement of the regulator also requires removal of the front window glass on this particular vehicle. Bear that in mind, if u r thinking of tackling this repair yourself. Most likely the window regulator is bound up. It is a cable driven unit and the cables like to unravel. If you hear the motor trying to work then it probably is the regulator.
