How much for engine replacement on 2000 Lincoln LS

l have a Lincoln LS with a blown engine. l found a used engine at an auto recycler and was wondering how much do shops or individuals charge to replace the engine?I am trying to stay away from the dealer becuase their prices are through the roof.

Besides going with a used engine, check your local parts store for a quality rebuilt long block. At least you will get a 12K mile / 12 month warranty. =^ ) Also, you may be able to use the rebuilt long block info to jew the price of the used engine.

I'd estimate it is probably a 15 hour job. Just ask whatever shop what their labor rate is, and you will have a rough estimate.

Keep in mind that with a junkyard engine, there might be some extra labor to swap parts around between the old and ''new'' one.
