l found one but i'm just curious, because the .gov site on fuel economy said it is 15 city, 20 highway and 18 together, and it said on a ford taurus 1998 16 city, 20 highway 18 together now is this accurate if it is then tell me.

20 mpg sounds about right. They had a 3 speed with overdrive.

The site l looked at said 14/22 for the lincolnand16 in the city, 23 or 25 highway, depending on engine.

Rember that the tTaurus has two fewer cylinders than the Lincoln, and that less energy is lost in the taurus' FWD configuration. In the Town car, power travels down a looong driveshaft before it gets to the rear end, where it is transmitted to the rear windows.

Plus, the Lincoln is heavy and it is almost as aerodynamic as a cinder block.

l have owned several and each one each year the mileage varies but 20 on the highway is pretty close maybe 21 but some other one might only get 19 get my drift not even sure why it would matter its old just how important is mileage in a classic car like a 1982 Lincoln just enjoy the ride.
