Not without MAJOR modifications and machining. On the other hand, you could certainly put the 4.0L V8 in it (if you do not already have it), with minor modifications (no power adders) you can get roughly 300 HP to the rear wheels with that motor, and l do not think that chassis/handling/brakes/etc would be able to handle much more than that.

sure it will fit, but will it drop in and bolt right up, no. You will have to do some major mods on it.

It wo not be emissions legal. Maybe the Explorer version would be as the last year was mid 2002, but it would be a custom job.

The factory option was a 3.9L v8. The 4.6L is a relative of that 3.9L as well.

It would be cool to do that, so get a cutting torch and make it fit.
