l just had my 2007 Brand New car stolen from me a gun point. They got nothing but my car but it can be replace. My 66 Continental keys were on the ring. The next day l ordered my ignition, doors and lock set plus 3 sets of blank keys for my Continental. What is some other security measures l can take more advanced than a kill-switch that l can install on the car and not effect the originality of the car? Your advice would be appreciated.

The best thing to do is have several levels of protection, to make it just the biggest pain possible to steal. Kill switch is a great idea. In fact, have a couple of different ones installed. If u have a shop install them, pay cash so they can not trace ur address through credit or bank cards. Use the Club on ur steering wheel; it is just one more thing they'd have to saw through. If u park it on the street next to a curb, crank the wheel all the way to the right or left, so it will be difficult to tow. Look into a Ravelco ignition lock. Look into a GPS locator service. Do all of these things. l would not even bother with an alarm though, they're just annoying, & after a few false alarms, ur neighbors will be BEGGING for ur car to be stolen.

Lo-Jack has a good system and a high recovery rate on stolen cars. l liked the idea of the dummy coil wire from the coil to the distributor. l can remember some years back that guys would pull the wire up from the coil so that it looked like it was connected, but it was far enough away that the car would not start.

l do not know where you live but if getting your car stolen is a regular ordeal then maybe you should look at other options of a place to live when you want to have nice things or collectible items you have to be able to keep them safe.
