The 462 is one of the old MEL engines from the 50 is (Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln). They use the old FMX style Cruise-o-matic transmission. An engine swap will require you to fabricate motor mounts, change to a C-6 trans (and mounts), custom exhaust, etc. This is a big ticket swap.do-able but not for the faint of heart unless you pay big $$$ to have it done or you can do all the work yourself.

Keep the 462..it is a torque monster and a pretty good engine.
