l have a 1992 lincoln Town Car with digital instrumentation panels, and the freaking outside temperature reading keeps giving me a reading of like -40F when it is like 100F outside.l was told it was the ambient air temperature sensor but looking at it the only part that matches the location is called the coolant temperature sensor is that the same thing.l order part numberYH1456 from Rockauto.com but l was told by some fellow friends that it was a in-cabin sensor used for A/C and not the outside temperature readings. Some insight would be helpful!

the outside temp display has absolutely nothing to do with the A/C climate control. The cabin sensor is for the auto climate control the outside temp is just for you to have an idea what the outside temp is nothing more and is not related to the auto climate control.
