The truck is mint with about 11,800 miles and is leased. The leasee is moving out of the country and needs to have someone assume it. It is the Ultimate upgraded model with just about every option: moonroof, power liftgate and 3rd row seats, navigation, 10 way power seats, wood and satin accents, heated/cooled seats, chrome exhaust, premium appearance package, entertainment package (rear DVD uprgraded CDx6),power deployed running boards, reverse sensing and you name it.
He wants me to assume payment (including tax) of $592.00 for 28 months and asked for 2500 down as he says he put down 10,000.Has free maintenance and roadside for the entire lease...It looks so good...but got worried when l saw the 2500 down. Can a dealer or someone familiar please assist?
Thanks

Leasing is a waste of money. It is highway robbery. With that said, heck yeah $592 for a Navigator is great. l would assume the lease as a favor but not give him the $2500. Tell him to take it back to the dealer if he needs the money- they wo not refund him. He is looking for a sucker! Resist!!!

double check on carfax.com to check out the history on it to be sure it is on the up and up.otherwise, its free to take it to a dealer and ask them.

No way he put down 10,000$ down, just for saying that u should be suspicious. 592.00$ a month seems very high if u put down a 2,500 downpayment. l would dodge this guy if l were you, something about it does not seem right. Lincoln Navigators r 51,000$, with all that stuff put it in should raise it to about 54,000.
l am a little confused, did u say he put 10,000$ down when he bought it? If so the car payments should only be 400-410 a month. If u payment of 2,500 u should only be paying 490-510 a month from a dealer brand new. l would be very suspicious if l were you.
Ask him why he is in such a hurry to leave, it sounds like he is conning you. Check out ur local dealer, they should be able to offer u an even better deal. And what if the guy did something to the car? If he damaged it, then when u sign over the papers, BAM YOU'RE SCREW'D. DO NOT TAKE THIS DEAL.

l am not sure about that deal, but the Lincoln Navigator is a great piece of work. It actually could be worth it.

well if u go to lincons web site & build a loaded navigator the price will be about $63K with 2500 down ur purchase payment would be over $1000 a month so l would say the lease from lincoln on a new similar navigator with only 2500 down would be much higher than $600 a month closer to 800or more. l would ask to see the original lease papers they will show the price of the vehicle & the amount put down also make sure there is no damage that u will be charged for when u turn in the car. l would say if everything checks out & u get away without the down payment it is probably a good deal.

here is a sample lease on a 2006 navigator ultimate l found for comparison

Navigator, Ultimate, Elite, Monotone package sticker:
Base MSRP:
$ 55,285
Options:
$ 5,845 ( this is after a discount of 1500 from window sticker price that ford automatically does)

Exterior: Cashmere Clearcoat Tri-Coat - Monotone
$ 495
Destination:
$ 820
TOTAL MSRP:
$ 62,444
With 1300 down & 10,500 miles per year the lease payment is 754 per month with taxes figured into payment. Actually the taxes r suppose to be paid up front so they took one of the rebates & paid the taxes so my payment is slightly higher.

Actually that is a great deal. If you were to lease a new one with 2500 down, you would be in the 700/month range. The free maintenance is worth another $700.
If you're still not convinced, get a quote from a local dealer for the same vehicle with 2,500 down and compare!

There should be paper work documentation of the lease contract when it was leased why would you asked to see the contract and all the paper work so you could see exactly what the lease contract is and then verify it with the dealer it was leased from that is all you need to do to tell if it is a legitimate offer.

LMAO, DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12000 miles? go find a navigator equipped the same with 15000 miles and BUY it out right, l bet the monthly payment will be the same.these suvs cant hold their value for $hit. no residual=not a lease material..very simple.
