Not necessary If you know of a good local mechanic you are someone knows he can fix anything for you Just ask and get an estimate, Then call dealer l know it will be higher, hope this helps.

dealers are always more expensive than your local mechnaic, they have more of an overhead to cover. l have an 01 V8 LS and l take it to a mechanic l know who used to fix my 90 Jag XJ6 because l trust him and he does great work and he has great prices. If you LS is still under warranty or you are leasing l say it is better to take it to the dealer to protect yourself, but if you know a good local dealer who you trust and can do the work will be just as good.
