is there a easier way to remove a starter form a 1994 towncar with out taking apart other parts of the car? l have 2 bolts off but cant reach the other, from the top or the bottom. this car is getting to be pretty expensive as far as repairs nothings cheap to repair to keep it running perfect. its a really good looking car.

It is pretty straightforward and it has to come out from the bottom of the car. Make sure to disconnect the battery before removing it. Remove the bolt and position the transmission cooler lines and bracket out of the way. It is held on by 3 bolts.

never had to replace a starter on one since a 1989 model l had and that was pretty easy to do. You can go on EBAY and under parts search Lincoln and find a CD manual and it will tell you exactly how to replace it.

Starter bolts = 3 x 10mm bolts
Starter battery postive terminal bolt = 1 x 13mm nut
Starter 'S' terminal = spade terminal, squeeze and pull

You may need to remove the right bank catalytic converter assembly in order to get access to the top bolt. Just make sure to disconnect the two O2 sensors if equipped. The exhaust system fasteners WERE 15mm when new. You may need to use a torch and a smaller size to remove them. Hope this helps.

You should not have to remove any other parts, you get at that last bolt by connecting several socket wrench extensions and going in from the space between the radiator fan shrowd and the face of the engine, straight through to the bolt.
