l have a 1993 Lincoln Continental.l had two 'key fob' remotes, but l lost one.l found two in a junkyard (free) - one from a 1994 Continental, one from a '93 Town Car, and l bought one on eBay ($15) for a '93 Continental.They all look the same, they all have the same FCC id numbers on the back as my original.Does anyone know the process to add a transmitter to my vehicle?

OK get your key fobs and get in car, put key in switch , Turn switch on and off several times until you here the doors lock, Take the spar an un lock, then take the original and un lock, now if you have another one they can be done at the same time, You have to be quick, make sure when the locks un-lock leave the switch in the on position, good luck

Okay, first thing.make sure u have a small jumper wire & ur remotes handy, because u only have a short time to do this procedure before the car re-sets itself.

Step one, on a 1993 or '94 Continental, remove ur belongings from the glove compartment. Push in the two tabs (one on each side) that usually prevent the glove box from tipping all the way out when u open it. While u r pushing those tabs in, tip the glove box beyong the dash board & swing it all the way down. The glove box is hinged at the bottom edge, so ur glove compartment bin will now be facing down at ur passenger side floor mat.

Look inside the glove gox door opening & to the right (likely tethered to a wrapped wire loom) u will see a gray plastic connector that is not connected to anything. On a 1993 Continental,. there should be a white with yellow stripe wire in one slot, & a gray with yellow stripe wire in the other slot of the two-slot gray connector. Now, insert ur jumper wire - one end into each slot of the two slot connector. At the dealership, we have a jumper that fits into the top of the connector. Since u likely do not have this conenctor at home, then just ''wedge'' the jumper wire into each of the two slots at the gray connector.

Now, turn ur car to ''ON'' (do not start). If u connected ur jumper wire correctly, ur doors should lock then unlock instantly. Hopefully, ur doors have just locked then unlocked, & ur now in programming mode. Leave the car in the ''ON'' position for right now.

So, u set-up ur jumper wire, u turned the car to ''ON the doors locked then unlocked, & now.take a trasmitter & press any button - & hold the button down until the doors lock & unlock again. This lock/unlock is ur car is way of telling u that it has accepted ur new remote. Repeat this step for any additional remotes - pressing (and holding) any button on each remote until the car locks & unlocks for each remote.

Now, turn the car ''OFF''. The doors will lock/unlock one more time. Remove ur jumper wire. Test ur remotes. They should all work properly.

Replace the glove compartment by reversing the procedure u did to swing it down.
