l have a 1996 Lincoln mark viii and when it was raining the other day well l had to jump off my ex wifes car and it got wet and hasnt ran since l cut it off any advice?? the mechanics is wanting to charge me 900. to change my fuel pump and sorry l dont think its bad........................................................................................

change the cap and wires.

You may need to check for bad spark plug wires ( l just had mine replaced, they were arcing so bad), and plugs. The service station said that if l had not gotten them fixed that it could fry the electronic ignition system or fuel injection..you may want to start there.

You must of done something wrong when you jumped started the other car have you disconnected your battery to try and reset things? when you turn your key on do you hear the fuel pump run it should run for about 2 seconds usually hear it from the rear of the car. Also check every fuse there is the power box under the hood with fuses check all of them other then that you maybe stuck with the dealer or you might could try a different dealer.
