You r right, there is no dipstick. That is because you're not supposed to check it on ur particular vehicle. On the bottom of the transmission pan, there is a two stage drain/fill plug. To drain it, remove the big hex drain plug. To fill it, replace the hex drain plug, but remove the center torx plug. Either attach an adapter to the opening, or fill with individual bottles of Mercon V with the nipple type cap attached to the bottle & squeeze until the bottle is emptied. Start vehicle, & repeat this process until fluid starts to come back out when the bottle is removed after each fill. The reason Ford does not provide a dipstick to check or fill the transmission is to weed out any ''Joe is garage'' topping up with the incorrect fluid, in an effort to reduce manufacturer warranty claims on failed transmissions due to improper fluids being added.
