The turn signal does not work when pushed all the way down, but does work when being held to switch lanes (right before it holds itself down).Just started today for no reason.The transmission is also shifting very weird its a lot different than its been.All of this just started today. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, ur turn signal problem sounds like it is with the actual switch. The control arms r not horribly expensive if u replace them yourself. And with any decent repair manual such as Haynes, it is pretty easy to do. There is a variety of reasons that a transmission can start shifting weird. With a 10 year old vehicle it could simply be age. If u have properly maintained ur tranny u should not have any problems till close till 200,000 miles. So if u have not changed ur transmission fluid, ur differential fluid & drive alot with over drive off or something like that ur transmission may be damaged.

one thing u can do is disconnect the battery for 15 to 30 minutes or more if nothing changes then for the trans u do need to keep the fluid changed regularly & best to take it to the Lincoln dealer to make sure the correct fluid is used. The turn signal is probably just the switch l have a 98 Cont & only turn signal problem is some times it gives me an error that the turn signal is not working l think l got either a bad bulb or socket. l got 140,000 & no problems with trans ever.

Check the bulb or the blinker relay fuse.
