Where is the fuel filter on a 1996 Lincoln Town Car located and how do I change it myself

The fuel filter is located on the driver side frame rail. It takes around 0.5 to 1hr to replace. A special Ford fuel line release tool need to remove fuel line from fuel filter. Local part store usually has the tool for sale.
Note: high pressure fuel, so be extra careful.

Disconnect the battery and release the pressure on the fuel rail (on the engine). After that, all you need to do is follow the lines from the gas tank until you find a cylindrical part that you can separate from the fuel lines using a tool used specifically for fuel, ac, and oil lines. make sure you get one that has both 5/16'' and 3/8'' fittings. Ca not remember which it is. Good luck! :o)
