Why does my 87 lincoln miss when its warm

It only misses when its warm but when its cold it runs great. If its in neutral it also runs good only misses in gear.

Probably has a bad seal around one or tow of the intake valves.

try a tuneup and use the next hotter spark plug for that application

maybe you have a bad sparkplug wire or wires. wait until dark is upon us and get the car hot if you put the car in gear the engine shifts and the wires could get closer to some metal and if there is a split in the wire you will have a miss. change that wire and you will have fixed it easy l do that for people all the time. usually my recomendation is to by a new set if plug wires. just for fun if you want a jolt grab the wire where you see the blue arc. merry xmas

Start with a basic tune-up,but if the car runs well on a cold start,you might want to look into changing the ign. module and coil. Another culprit could be the Oxygen sensors,there is one in each exhaust manifold.Good Luck.

replace plug wires first...then check the ignition coil.
