l will elaborate to better convey my dilemma. l got to the store and attempted to park, when l was slowing down l noticed the brake pedal went in all the way, l disregarded the incident. Then when l came out and tried to go in reverse the car would not go back. l thought the brakes had locked up because that is happened to me before. Then l decided to give it gas and managed to get the car to go in reverse, as opposed to when my brakes locked the car moved. However, l still have that problem going in reverse it seems to get stuck and only with substantial force will it move. What could it be, l mean if the brakes were locked l would not be able to move the car at all. Is it on the verge of locking up? Is it the brake pump or whatever it is called? What should l do? Please somebody help with a little orientation. Oh, as the car is moving it makes a noise similar to when your brake pads are worn out.

hmm, sounds like you need more tranny fluid in your tranny, and more brake fluid in your brakes. If it is not that simple you probably have major transmission problems, and sounds as if you will need a mechanic.

Based on the fact that you know what worn-out pads sound like, l am guessing you have not neglected your brakes to the point that they are now WELDING together (it happens).

The sound and difficulty moving sounds almost like your emergency brake is engaged, but that does not explain the rest.

Were l to guess, I'd say your master cylinder is leaking and/or getting stuck.

it could be that u have a caliper not releasing they do go bad but l am concerned that maybe ur transmission is acting up? You did not say if u can go forward okay is it just when u try to go in reverse because the brake locking up would affect forward movement as well as reverse. sounds like u may need some brake work l would get a complete brake job if u know a friend that is good at doing brakes do all four wheels pads, rotors & calipers & u will be done with brake issues.

Be sure to engage parking brake frequently or you will need to replace the rear brakes at $600 cost. If you drive with rear brakes locked they will overheat and may cause your car to catch fire. FIRE!
