Check first to see if it has Platinum plugs..if so they do not have to be changed for 100K miles...if this is the case replace them with platinum again they are more expensive but worth it and warrantable

It is a toss up on whether u should really stray from the Motorcraft brand in the first place, the late model ignition systems r precisely engineered to work with OEM wires, plugs, etc.

In some cases however u can ''upgrade'' ur plug & acheive a desirable result. My recommendation for a non-oem plug would be NGK hands down. l run NGK in every motor l build, they have yet to let me down. Do not be tricked into buying the next big ''super'' plug from Bosch.they're crap through & through. I've had more people come in who had put in Bosch plugs wondering why their vehicles were running like crap than l can keep track of.

If you're going to be changing the plugs u may want to go ahead & run new plug wires while you're in there. Your budget really determines the type of wire to suggest but on an value level with great performance l recommend the Beldin Wires offered by Napa. They r fairly low cost (probably $45 - $55) 8mm high performance wires. We use them on all our customer tune-ups & have have had great success. They're also silicon wrapped & colored a dark blue with silver lettering.looks pretty good when in place.

l have owned Lincolns from the 70 is to now probably 25 to 30 of them and l have been through the plug thing on the older ones and the newer ones and the best is the original replacement plugs. All those company is that claim to make all these high output super plugs must be for other cars because never made a difference in any Lincoln l have had l always end up going back to either Motorcraft or autolite for the best performance.

Well l have a 87 lincoln town car and l noticed that it ran better when l put Boush plugs in it .

l use bosch platinum +4 in my MKVI l LSC with the 302.
made a difference of 2 mpg over the autolite or motorcraft.
the throttle response also improved.
