Welcome to NAFTA!
Many cars are now made in Mexico & Canada.

It can not.

It may be manufactured by an American car company, but it is an import.

cheers.

Have you noticed that the Japanese, Korean and other ''foreign'' cars being built in the USA are doing it with non-union labor? The current labor union agreements are driving ''American'' car factories to Mexico and to Canada because Ford, GM and Chrysler can no longer afford to pay production line workers $45 per hour to build cars.

Its a global market and the american companies are being shredded by the competition. Stuff is built in mexico because its cheaper. Gm uses lots of components from china in all their cars. the aveo is made in korea for chevy.

If you want an american car, buy a subaru legacy. Made in indiana.

it can not.anything made outside of the states is not american made.it can be made by an american company and be imported, but it is still not american made.it takes american people being paid by american companies inside the american states to be american made.anything that has to cross a bordering country is line, is no longer american made.

If u check u will see that most of GM,Ford & Chrysler vehicles r built in the US & Canada. l have a list of over 80 vehicles built in the US & Canada, very few vehicles sold by these companies r built in Mexico.Chrysler is building 2 new engine plants in Detroit area & GM is building transmission plant in Toledo.Toyota imports half of the vehicles they sell in the US & have said they will not build any more assembly plants in the US.As for the UAW members making too much money,we just took a pay cut & the UAW took over the health care so the UAW workers pay & benefits r almost in line with what Toyota pays.JetDoc has no clue what he is talking about, give me a break $45.00, l have a lot of back pay coming to me.

Mexico is part of North America
People of U.S. want too much money and benefits.

Great point! It cannot. As for Lincoln, how shameful that Fords flagship vehicles are now built largely in Mexico.

Its more than just where the cars a physically built. Being domestic includes where the cars are designed, tested, and engineered. Not to mention where the parts are manufactured.

At the end of the day, every Ford F-150 you buy puts money into the future products for Ford, supports the workers on the line, engineers in Detroit, and all the individual dealerships that support local communities.

Yes some assembley is done in mexico etc, but the car & parts r still American desighned. They r built in other places for cheaper labor & cheaper building of parts, but they r still American. Unlike the claims Toyota is making about assembled in the us, the profits still go to japan, as where the domestic profits stay in the us. But its short lived, because their is talk that imported parts r going down in quality & they want to start making them back in the us.
The imports r offering dirt cheap cars with good warrantys & its hurting the domestic cars because we have always built them with quality & heart, unlike the mass produced gocarts overseas, but the truth is coming out on the reliability like was said on CNN about Toyota saying ''buyer beware'' because the toyota isnt as reliable as consumers thought, & rated the Ford co. best quality, most reliable, & far out better vehicle in the world, which consumer reports, & sales stats r proving more & more every day.

That is easy - it is a false question. There is no such thing as a ''true American'' car. You just made that up.
