Yea its a electric motor that closes the trunk all the way down, It is not wanting to work much anymore.
l was wondering how l could manually close it all the way down everytime l open It? Its a 1993 Lincoln Towncar

You'd probably have to disconnect the servo that actually lowers the trunk shut.

You also may be able to find a replacement off of ebay or http://uneedapart.com/ which is a free used part wire service.

If you will shift the bodies you have stuffed in the trunk around a bit, the lid should close!

Open trunk, push upper switch with your finger, watch lower latch go down, when it is down, disconnect lower latch motor, then it will be a manuel trunk. Usually the motors go bad
