The window is down and l can not get the regulator & motor out. Everything is unbolted & unriveted but the window cable seems to be lodged in the motor. There is not room enough with the window down to remove the regulator. The window does not budge up at all. How do you get the window loose from the regulator? Maybe that would help.

You must drill out the two rivets that secure the window to the regulator. To do so, pull the window up to the point where the heads of the rivets can be accessed by a center punch to punch out the center piece (take care not to shatter the window glass when doing this). Using heavy duty duct tape, hold the window glass in that position while u work to drill out the two window glass rivets. Once removed, u will need to remove the window glass from the door entirely, to gain the clearance needed to install the new regulator assembly. Be sure to use the same grade of rivets as the original ones when installing the new regulator. Hope this helps.

Usually have someone put the switch downward, holding the window, then make them put the switch up, while pulling the window up.There are 2 rivets through the glass you might have to drill through to get the window out to change the regulator

Ford Girl is right. But it is usually impossible to manuever the glass to a point where you can access the rivets. l have, in a pinch, used a 1/2'' hole saw to make an access hole in the inner door skin, then use that hole to insert my drill. It will be covered by the door panel anyway. Sometimes, if you are patient enough, you can keep wiggling the regulator around until it frees up slightly, gaining access to the rivets.
