What kind of record does the Lincoln ls have? the year 2001? I am considering buying one from a private owner?

Consider another car.It cost over $2500.00 just to replace the
front ''struts and rear shocks.Say if even one rear shock goes bad the left side of the Lincoln will almost be on the ground.
Go Cadillac, or Mercedes, or better yet ''Lexus'' No lincolns please..Rody

Lincoln is the luxury brand of Ford, and has a good record for reliability. One advantage of buying from a private owner is that most Lincoln owners are older people, and therefore drive the car more gently than younger drivers. So a 2001 Lincoln Town Car is likely to be in better shape than the same year Ford Crown Victoria.

However, a private seller is not going to give you any kind of warranty, so it is a good idea to have a mechanic check the car out beforehand.

Licoln has a pretty good reputation for luxury.but tha LS l wouldnt trust. Friend of mine bought a new one and about a year later tha transmission went out. Warranty covered it but Ive heard bad things about tha LS. Beautiful car though. :(

Been down this road before. Dad bought an LS. & aside from the weak transmission & poor performance/mileage l guess we could say at least the seats were comfortable.

If ur set on a Lincoln. Get a Continental. Dad traded his LS for one & loves it! gets 27MPG, has the COBRA 4.6 V8 (instead of the wimpy 3.9) Oh, unlike every other Ford product l have owned or driven. this one is.. ummm. unbelievably reliable His 2000 has 257,000 miles on it. No rust, Tranny is solid, Motor is strong as an ox, AC is cold, No Idiot lights on, & runs like it was stolen. Everything is original

Starts every time. Traction control is unbelievable. the car is VERY quiet (except when u have ur foot in the go pedal) stops fast handles well & is INSANELY COMFORTABLE! Gotta love the trunk u can throw FOUR golf bags & two dead bodies in.
