I have a 2002 Lincoln LS, it cuts off at 120mph. Does any one know how to change the computer chip?

When the chips first came out it was behind the glove box. Not sure about a 2002 model. Also, my knowledge is ancient, but the race car drivers back then had California companies burning custom chips.

Otherwise, you have to go with a Holley Carb.

it may not be a chip, it may be a governer on the engine itself. and the computer may not like it if you remove it and route around it.

Why would you want to drive such an unstable car over 100mph? Step up and buy a BMW M3 or M5 if that is what you want to do.

you can buy a programmer for about 500 bucks. you set it to add horsepower, torque, fuel mileage. you can also have the rev limiter shut off.

just so you know, the rev limiter is there to keep you from wrecking or burning out the engine. not advised unless you will take it into a track.

Some places like Auto Zone have programs you can put in the processor, or computer, of the car for better performance.

Why would you want to go that fast anyway. You can get killed and the cops ai not playing with high speed drivers cause they shoot and ask questions later. It is your choice Goodluck.

There is no computer chip per say. It is programmed in the PCM and by Federal law is required. The only way on a Ford to override it is by a computer programmer for about $400.
