the engine of a lincoln continental 1997 4.6L burn out beyond repair l been told that l need an other engine. some one is offering to sell me a 1995 4.6L engine motor form his 1995 lincoln continental and l would like to know if it fitson my car tranni and supports wise ?

l think so l had a 1995 and 4.6 are pretty universal?

yes it will fit 1995 through 2002 will fit exact same drive trane.

they will fit but you have to becareful, in some states you can not install an engine that is older then the year of the car(smog or emission control engines mainly California)

yep do not go below a 95 anything under is a 5.0

yes the difference will be in the control gages if you have a digital dashboard on both
l think some 95 still came analog
91 to 2002 is the same

it is always better and legal to upgrade a car with a newer model engine, downgrading (illegal in some states) can be expensive and a headache.

OMG 5.0L engines have not been Contis for 19 years.

1988 to 1994 only had V6 3.8 is in Continentals, they only had the Essex engine in them.
87 Contis had 5.0L engines dating back until 1980 then they also had an optional 351Windsor engine.
In 1979 they only had a 400M in '78 they had a 400 CID engine, also had a 460 CID engine.
l could go on but l wont.
