lincoln ls steering wheel off center but steers straight on road

so what is the problem ?

Just take the wheel off the spline shaft and re-position it. It wo not affect the static or dynamic balance.

the road is off center too..

This could be caused by the camber of the pavement it on under inflated tire.

If it does not bother you that the wheel is not centered, just drive it. Has the wheel always been off center or has it changed for you? If it has changed then you should get the steering and suspension checked out for something that is wearing out it might fail. The proper way to fix this is at an alignment shop, the tie rods need to be adjusted to bring the wheel back, this also centers the steering box.

If steering wheel has not been off before it may have been put back on off center, but l doubt it. Most wheels are now keyed so they must go on in the same position due to the electronics in the column such as the airbag clockspring.

If wheel has gotten off center, something in you steering has changed. It should be put on the alignment machine and checked.

You should check the steering wheel or you can go to the lincon dealer where you bought the lincon or replace it.

br549 is right on/just because it drives straight does not mean it is right/have it checked out for your own safety and life of your tires

if ur not mechanically inclined take the car to a mechanic, they can adjust the steering linkage in about 5 minutes to fix this.

otherwise, get under ur car, look for the steering box where all the linkage starts from. there will be a tie rod there, that goes into a cast iron arm, & on the other end of the tie rod there is going to be an adjustable sleeve.
loosen the 2 clamps on that & loosen or tighten that sleeve till ur steering wheel is straight.
then retighten those clamps.
