my passenger side window on my lincoln mark 8 only goes down and only the passenger side control does that for it l need help cause minnesota in january is not a good place for that to happen

Sounds like a switch problem to me. In my experence, usually whenever a window would roll down but not up (or vice-versa), the motor and regulator was good. l have saw vehicles where one particular door switch would not work in both directions, but another one would. If that is the case with your car, l would try replacing the switch that does not work in both directions first.
